Privacy Policy — AnnSetu Rider App

The AnnSetu Rider App is used by delivery partners ("riders") to collect surplus food and deliver meals for the AnnSetu platform. This policy explains what personal data the App collects from riders, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).

1. Data we collect

2. How your data is shared

• Consumers: while you carry their active request, the consumer sees your first name, live location, and ETA. They do not see your phone number, KYC documents, or earnings.
• AnnSetu operations team: reviews KYC for onboarding, monitors active routes, and manages payouts through our internal admin dashboard. KYC decisions, payouts, and account status changes are logged with an audit trail.
• Service providers (data processors): Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, notifications on Google Cloud), Google Maps and routing providers (navigation, ETA calculation), and SMS providers (MSG91 / TextBee) for OTP delivery. Each receives only what its function requires.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• Legal: we may disclose data where required by law or to protect the safety of users, riders, or the public.

3. Location — what you control

• Location is collected only while you set yourself online or have an active route. Going offline stops collection.
• Your live position is shared with the consumer only for the duration of their active request.
• You may decline the location permission, but the App cannot assign or track routes without it, so core rider features will not work.

4. Data retention

Account and KYC data are retained while your rider account is active and for the period required by law after closure. Earnings and payout records are retained per applicable financial and tax regulations. Route history is retained for operations and dispute resolution. OTP challenges are short-lived and expire automatically.

5. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Database access is deny-by-default: your rider record is readable only by your authenticated account, KYC files are private to you and the operations team, and all sensitive writes (earnings, payouts, onboarding status, route completion) happen on our servers, not from devices.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction: view and edit your profile in the App, or write to us for data you cannot edit yourself (e.g. KYC records).
• Account deletion: request deletion from Profile in the App or by emailing help@annsetu.org. We delete your profile, documents, and device tokens; earnings/payout records we must retain by law are kept only as required.
• Notifications: disable push notifications in device settings (you may miss route offers).
• Grievances: contact our grievance officer at help@annsetu.org. If unresolved, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Eligibility

The Rider App is available only to individuals 18 years or older who complete onboarding verification.

8. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be notified in the App.
